Make an entrance with light. This monumental flush mount by Doria Leuchten is a cascade of hand-pressed, ice-textured glass tiles, stacked in seven graduated tiers that taper like a frozen waterfall. Each rectangular tile carries the organic, irregular surface and trapped air bubbles that make 1960s German glass so appealing. They catch the light and break it into thousands of glittering reflections.

At 98 cm in diameter and 44 cm high, this is a statement fixture built for grand spaces: double-height entrance halls, sweeping stairwells, spacious living rooms, hotel lobbies, restaurants or boutiques. Lit, the glass glows with a soft, crystalline radiance. Unlit, it remains a sculptural object with real architectural presence.

About the designer

Doria Leuchten was one of the leading German lighting manufacturers of the postwar era, known for its quality glass chandeliers and for its Hollywood Regency and mid-century modern style. This piece shows the brand at its most ambitious, with the scale and craftsmanship that made Doria a favorite of European design.

Condition

Excellent vintage condition, with no chips, cracks or losses to the glass. The fixture is complete and comes with spare glass ornaments, which is a rare and valuable extra for a piece of this size and age.
