Renate Weidner, “Bowl with Feathers,” 2004

This striking and rare "Bowl with Feathers" by Renate Weidner (German, b. 1943) is a masterful example of her innovative and poetic approach to contemporary ceramic art. Created in 2004, this piece captivates with its elegant form and bold material contrast.

The minimalist black ceramic bowl, with its refined and perfectly balanced silhouette, is dramatically crowned by a radiating arrangement of vivid red feathers. This unexpected interplay between the solid, permanent ceramic body and the light, organic movement of the feathers creates a powerful visual tension, at once grounded and ethereal.

The bowl is monogrammed underneath, confirming its authenticity and Weidner’s personal touch. It has been preserved in excellent condition, making it a particularly desirable collector’s piece.
